Anchor Seafood: The Best Seafood in Bergen County!

For as long as I can remember (at least 15 years or so), my family and I have been buying our seafood from Anchor Seafood. This local seafood store, located at 10 S Kinderkamack Rd in Montvale, NJ, has (in my opinion) the freshest and best quality seafood in Bergen County. Additionally, Anchor Seafood's variety is impressive. Fresh fish (whole and fillet), smoked fish, clams, mussels, lobster, pre-made seafood dishes, pre-marinaded fishes, squid, scallops, homemade clam chowder…the list goes on! Whenever we are in the mood for seafood, we always buy from Anchor!

In addition to the wonderful quality and selection of seafood, I really like the staff. The owner, Richie, is such a down to earth guy, and he knows his seafood! He is always happy to help, provide suggestions, and discuss fishing. Sometimes, his sons help out and they are equally lovely and knowledgeable. The same can be said for the staff. Attentive, helpful, personable, and knowledgable. I always enjoy my visits to Anchor Seafood.
In addition to the fresh seafood selection, the freezers are also packed with goodies. Frozen seafood (of very high and delicious quality!), homemade soups and sauces, and pre-made meals.  Next to the freezers, there is a large fridge filled with beverages, eggs, clams and oysters, and a selection of homemade soups. Personally, I am very fond of Richie's New England Clam Chowder. So creamy and delicious! I definitely recommend it! 
Finally, the lobster tank. When you first walk in, it's the first thing you will see. The lobster tank is always full and the lobsters are quite large! We have never been disappointed with the Anchor Seafood lobsters. Juicy, large, and indulgent. Sure, it's a bit of a splurge, but these lobsters are worth every penny. I absolutely love the lobster here!!!
If you are looking for amazing seafood, look no further. Anchor Seafood is phenomenal. The quality of seafood is unmatched, the service is superb, and the prices are very reasonable. Anchor Seafood has something for everyone, and if you are unsure, just ask --- the staff is always happy to recommend something!

Gordon Ramsay's Cheesy Potato Dauphinoise

I am fairly impressionable --- at least when it comes to cooking. When I see a recipe or a dish that intrigues me, I become obsessed and determine to give it a go. I have been obsessively watching Come Dine With Me  for at least one month and a dish that keeps popping up is: Potato Dauphionoise. Percy Jackson & the Olympians: Where Greek Mythology Comes to Life

Last week, I finally made it to the movie theater to see Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters. I don’t care what anyone says, I LOVED IT. I loved the film, I love the Percy Jackson franchise, I love the Rick Riordan books, and I cannot wait for the next book ( The Titan’s Curse), to be made into a film! For those who may be unfamiliar with Percy Jackson, allow me to briefly explain. Percy Jackson is essentially Harry Potter , but the magic has been swapped for ancient Greek mythology. The protagonist of the series, Percy Jackson, is a demi-god and son of Poseidon --- god of the Seas. Percy lives at Camp Half Blood and is often accompanied by his best friends, Grover (a satyr) and Annabeth Chase (daughter of Athena). These three, along with a variety of other characters, go on quests and do everything in their power to stop the return of the evil Titan, Kronos, who is trying to resurrect himself and overthrow Olympus.
