Post-Work Hangout at Molly's Cupcakes

Image
Yesterday, one of my co-workers at the cancer center and I decided to treat ourselves. A month or two ago, another one of our colleagues, now a first year medical student, had told us about an amazing cupcake store on Bleeker St. She had described these cupcakes as the best she'd ever eaten. With an endorsement like that, how could we resist? It took us several subway rides, but eventually, we arrived at this unsuspecting cupcake heaven!  228 Bleeker St (West Village) The store itself has this magical quality. It's hard to explain. I couldn't help but smile when we walked in. It was like traveling back in time to my childhood. With the swinging counter seats, fairy lights, board games, and vintage lunch boxes --- it has a very fun ambience.  Of course, we weren't there to admire the furnishings --- we were there on a cupcake mission! My coworker and I made a beeline to the two glass counters, filled with an assortment of cupcakes. Blueberry cheesecake, cook

Anchor Seafood: The Best Seafood in Bergen County!

Image
For as long as I can remember (at least 15 years or so), my family and I have been buying our seafood from Anchor Seafood. This local seafood store, located at 10 S Kinderkamack Rd in Montvale, NJ, has (in my opinion) the freshest and best quality seafood in Bergen County. Additionally, Anchor Seafood's variety is impressive. Fresh fish (whole and fillet), smoked fish, clams, mussels, lobster, pre-made seafood dishes, pre-marinaded fishes, squid, scallops, homemade clam chowder…the list goes on! Whenever we are in the mood for seafood, we always buy from Anchor! 10 S. Kinderkamack Rd, Montvale, NJ 07645 (201)-930-9170 The display cases are always stocked with a large variety of seafood In addition to the wonderful quality and selection of seafood, I really like the staff. The owner, Richie, is such a down to earth guy, and he knows his seafood! He is always happy to help, provide suggestions, and discuss fishing. Sometimes, his sons help out and they are equally lov

The Twelfth Doctor Lands in Manhattan!

I wrote this post nearly one week ago, but I wanted to wait until the new series of Doctor Who  premiered to post it. Didn't want to risk any spoilers! Some of you may or may not have known that there was a " Doctor Who World Tour." To quote the official website: "Seven cities. Five continents. One Doctor. Peter Capaldi, Jenna Coleman, and Steven Moffat to circumnavigate the earth for fan events and publicity appearances in another unique first for the British show." Basically, from August 7th ~ August 19th, the Doctor (Capaldi) and his companion (Coleman) went around the world to promote the newest installment of this beloved British sci-fi series.   The tickets disappeared almost instantaneously and the amount of fans it drew, was insane! Although tickets were nearly impossible to purchase, my father and I were one of the few lucky ones to purchase tickets to the New York stop of the " Doctor Who World Tour." For those who are unfamiliar w
