Dessert Kitchen --- My New Favorite Sweets Spot in Manhattan!

I am very excited to tell everyone about my new favorite eatery in Manhattan: Dessert Kitchen. R and I stumbled upon this little dessert restaurant a few weeks ago and now we are obsessed. Dessert Kitchen is located at 192 Bleecker St, in the West Village, and specializes in an assortment of desserts ranging from puddings to cakes to parfaits.

About two weeks ago, R and I went to see The Third Man at Film Forum. (Film Forum is an indie movie theater located off Houston Street and screens a fair number of film noirs --- something R and I both love.) After the movie, we grabbed dinner at a Japanese restaurant on MacDougal St, but decided to go elsewhere for dessert. In order to get home, we needed to hop on the 1 train, so I suggested strolling towards the Christopher St stop, assuming we'd come across dessert on our walk there. We had only been walking for a few minutes when we stumbled upon Dessert Kitchen, and boy, am I glad we found this place!

Dessert Kitchen is very modern and sleek looking -- you can instantly tell that it is a trendy spot. The waitstaff is super friendly and the kitchen team are like artists. They work together and the food they create is stunning.
The menu is rather large and it's basically pages of food porn. The photographs are tantalizing and mouth watering. On our first visit, I couldn't stop perusing the menu and I wanted to try everything!!!

On our first visit, R ordered the caramel pudding, whilst I enjoyed the "Cocoa Kiss." His caramel pudding was very enjoyable and surprisingly light! The custard wasn't very sweet and fairly dense, and the caramel sauce was beautifully done. Although R's caramel pudding was tasty, my Cocoa Kiss was even better! Just thinking about this dessert makes me smile. My dessert was comprised of a thin vanilla sauce/pudding, with coffee jello, cocoa krispies, a banana, and the most PHENOMENAL chocolate ice cream I've ever eaten! Holy cow, possibly my most favorite dessert EVER!

Last night, after meeting some friends for drinks and pub trivia, R and I returned to Dessert Kitchen to indulge. We had been looking forward to our return trip for days --- I mentioned this plan to him earlier in the week. From the moment we arrived, we were on cloud 9. We were grinning and giddy with excitement. This time, R ordered the Cocoa Kiss, whilst I tried the "Black Temptation." My dessert consisted of vanilla ice cream, bits of oreo cookies, a milky pudding/sauce, cocoa krispies, a piece of chocolate, and chocolate powder. It was VERY tasty, but I still think the Cocoa Kiss is better.

Dessert Kitchen is a gem. If you have a sweet tooth or you are in the mood for treat, I HIGHLY recommend this place! The prices are reasonable, the service is great, and the food is phenomenal. R and I were saying that we wished they had loyalty cards because we intend to come here frequently!
